2026 FLVCS February Meeting

COL Dr. Darren McAuley has served his country wherever and whenever it needed him. Now he is running for Congress in Florida District 15. COL McAuley will be the featured speaker at the 2026 FLVCS February meeting. Find out what his legislative priorities are for Florida and our nation. His presentation is part of the FLVCS’s Meet the Candidates Series to educate our members and the public on candidates running for office in the November 2026 election.

Bio for Col Dr. Darren McAuley
Darren joined the Air National Guard at age 24 as a third year medical student.
He has served six tours of duty, including two in Iraq. He set up mobile hospitals during the pandemic and deployed to nursing homes where other medical staff refused to go. As Florida’s Air Surgeon, he has helped to coordinate our state’s response when hurricanes and natural disasters strike. Wherever someone needs help — that’s where he goes.
As a Pain Management physician at the Veterans Administration he saw the damage caused to the organization by rampant cuts and decided that he could again serve his country by running for Florida’s 15th Congressional District in Tampa Bay along the I-4 corridor into Lakeland. He currently teaches medicine and lives with his wife Tammy and 3 children.
