Sarasota County School Board Meeting – NO ICE

Sarasota County School Board 2026.

Tell the  Sarasota County School Board – NO ICE! at the School Board meeting on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. EST. 

Join us as Florida Veterans for Common Sense (FLVCS) members and supporters oppose Sarasota County School Board Chair, Bridget Ziegler’s, resolution for “affirming full cooperation & coordination with Law Enforcement Agencies including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)”. Read the full draft resolution.

We will Rally at 9:00 A.M. Invite others and wear your FLVCS-branded gear. If you have extra, bring it so others that don’t have it, can wear it.  Consider making a personal statement yourself. You must submit a card to speak before the meeting starts. See the rules below.

Sarasota County School Board Speakers and Public Comment Rules

We have moved to Public Comment card please arrive early to submit prior to the meeting. No cards will be accepted after the meeting has started. 

  • State your name for the record. 
  • Ensure that you include the agenda item(s) / number within the Topic Section. All requests without an Agenda Item listed will be placed in General Comments. The resolution is on the agenda as Item 11, For the Record, 11.1, Bridget Ziegler, Resolution_ Affirming Full Cooperation & Coordination with LEAs ICE
  • Submit a separate “request to speak” form for each public comment portion of the meeting. (Agenda Comments, General Comments, Public Hearing, etc.)
  • You will have three (3) minutes for agenda items and (2) minutes for general comments to speak. When the screen turns red you will have 30 seconds remaining. Your microphone will turn off when your time expires. 
  • No speaker can yield his or her time to any other speaker. 
  • No CDs, DVDs, or any other audio or video recordings are permitted. 
  • All guest speakers are asked to conduct themselves in a manner in which all our students would be proud. Therefore, whether you agree or disagree with a speaker, you should listen politely and respectfully, without making any sounds of approval or disapproval, including clapping. 

We appreciate everyone displaying the utmost consideration for every speaker’s opinion. 

Please Note: Any individual who interferes with the orderly process of a School Board meeting will be subject to removal from the meeting (after warning), per Section 1001.372(3), Florida Statutes.
