Jack Dempsey, Afghanistan War veteran writes in Poltico about the necessity to get the end game for Afghanistan right. The opinion piece is titled, We Got Afghanistan Wrong, but There’s Still Time to Learn Something. Subtitled, If the U.S. wants to prevent a Taliban takeover after September, it’s time for a fast admission of what our military misread over the past 20 years.

Dempsey details the shortcomings of the American approach to training and equipping the Afghan Army. That is, firepower and technology don’t win hearts and minds.
