Father and son -dear fellow veterans
Dear Fellow Veterans,

As veterans, we have all sworn an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic.

In the upcoming election, we are confronted by a candidate for President who is a danger to the Constitution. Senior military and defense officials who have served in the Trump administration agree.

Chief of Staff: General John Kelly: “A person with nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law.”

Chief of Staff and Former Chairman Joint Chiefs-of-Staff: General Mark Milley: “We don’t take an oath to a king, or queen, or tyrant or a dictator, and we don’t take an oath to a wannabe dictator.”

Secretary of Defense, General James Mattis: “We must reject and hold accountable those in office who would make a mockery of our Constitution.”

Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper: When asked if Trump can be trusted with National Security Secrets, he answered, “No.” He added that Trump’s “irresponsible actions” in storing boxes of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida had placed service members and the country at risk.

The highest responsibility as veterans is to defend the Constitution and national security. Although we may disagree with candidates on policy, policy can be debated and changed. If the Constitution is cast aside, policy will only reflect the whim of the leader.

As veterans, Trump’s own high ranking appointees confirm that he is a danger to our Constitution. Please share this information with your members, friends, and family.
