FLVCS members helped make Sarasota JFCS Stand Down a big success! Before the Stand Down, a team of FLVCS members helped provision the event by transporting backpacks, clothing, shoes, and food to the Fair Grounds for distribution to the homeless veterans. Member Mark McCabe and his assistant evaluated over 40 homeless veterans for possible claim applications and initiated 19 claims for them, including one for a WWII veteran. Meanwhile, other FLVCS members engaged with the homeless veterans to see if they qualified for an internship. One veteran was identified and given an internship.
