Dear Veterans and supporters of Veterans,
Every current struggle for justice depends in large part on abolishing corporate personhood.
Are you concerned that veterans’ medical care will be totally privatized? Then you have to outflank private healthcare and insurance lobbies. If you want to reform policing, you have to go against law enforcement unions who are spending millions of dollars to influence public policy in their favor. Making serious progress on climate change a concern of yours, then you need to compete against the fossil-fuel industry dollars. If you want an equitable and effective healthcare system, you need to outspend a gigantic-pharma industry and for-profit hospitals.
At the root of all our major problems is the reality that rights originally meant to protect citizens from the potentially oppressive powers of our government now belong, as well, to corporations. These rights allow corporations to unduly influence our government in their favor.
Passing the We The People Amendment is the best way to rectify excessive corporate influence on our government. Corporate personhood isn’t a political issue, it’s a citizen’s rights issue. This issue gets to the core of all the things we’ve been struggling with throughout our country’s shared history.
Whatever your political persuasions, Florida Veterans for Common Sense urges you go get behind this important legislation. The easiest way to start is to sign the online Move to Amend petition. Want to do more, contact your members of Congress and urge them to support this legislation. Be alert to phony amendments and get involved locally (click here to learn about more action).

Make abolishing corporate personhood a priority. Our democracy depends on it.
Respectfully,
/s/
President, Florida Veterans for Common Sense, Inc.
