The 2026 Thomas Paine Party on Wednesday, February 11 was a great success. One hundred fifty people attended. Professor Ruth Ben Ghiat received the prestigious Thomas Paine award and was the featured speaker. 

Anthony Hardie, Paul Sullivan and Thomas Bandzul received Extraordinary Service Awards for their tireless efforts to get Congress and the Veterans Administration to recognize Gulf War Illness as a presumptive disease with its own International Classification of Disease (ICD). Their 30-year effort lead to institutional recognition and policy action. 

Casey New was recognized as the volunteer of the year for his vigorous efforts with the FLVCS microforest projects and persistently advocating to preserve our freedoms.
