Committees

Florida Veterans for Common Sense is constantly reaching into the public domain via use of all volunteer committees both paying members and friends of FLVCS. Contact us today to learn more about assisting FLVCS by volunteering for a committee.

Veterans Committee

The Veterans Committee raises funds and collects personal items to help wounded warriors and veterans. This committee makes a delivery every quarter to the Haley VA Hospital in Tampa of useful items like books, magazines, toiletries, lap cloths, Afghans and underwear with custom sewn Velcro fasteners so that wounds can be accessed easily. A special project is buying wheelchair gloves for veterans.

Research Committee

This committee researches and drafts position papers, resolutions, articles, and other communications for FLVCS.

Veterans Benefit Committee

This committee educates veterans on benefits to which they are entitled and recommends positions to FLVCS on veterans issues.

Political Action Committee

The goal of this committee is to establish a political action team in each congressional district to lobby and educate on issues. This is the committee that recommends to the board and membership support for political candidates and how best to support them. FLVCS is politically active and supports and campaigns for candidates who align with FLVCS positions.

Veterans Day Committee

This committee coordinates FLVCS participation in the veterans day parade and other parades as well as the veterans day picnic.

Tom Paine Birthday Committee

This committee plans and presents the annual FLVCS Thomas Paine Dinner.
